Animals’ Angels horse slaughter investigations featured on national TV in Mexico. One of Mexico’s largest TV stations, Milenio Television, aired a strong anti horse slaughter piece. This is the first time that this issue is getting nationwide attention and the TV station just told us that the feedback has been incredible…The reporter specifically targeted the imports from the US and the cruelty exposed by AA at Southwest Livestock Auction as well as the Eagle Pass and Presidio export pens.

See once again the people in Oklahoma, Wallis and Duquette and their string of lies gets exposed. Mexico has a heart-there are tons of people there who disagree with this and are hurt and shocked by this. I have a friend who moved from Mexico many years ago and he is a horse man and he said that he wouldn’t dream of hurting his horses he has had the same three for 20 years, he says that his mother bought them for him when he was a young man and when he showed me the papers on them his hands shook with the anger that he feels that many US people now think all Mexico eats is horses. He said his mother was so upset by the article she couldn’t speak to him on the phone, she just prays-for their country and for the lost horses. The articles in America that the above people have been spreading all over the place is that its widely eaten in Mexico and everyone loves it and there are no sick people in Mexico as a result of the meat. Many people do not know the great sadness and pain that lives within their own borders. I knew in my heart that not all of Mexico believed in this practice and would not want it to continue. Wallis and everyone else ACT as though its widely ACCEPTED in Mexico, like no one sees it as an issue and so America should just do and do it better. So this should wake people up and send this to our legislators, because they need to see that before the vote on the Safe Act. It will support the saving of the horses. Please Also NOTE that they are Killer buyers-the indication is they are BUYING horses to kill-so please keep in mind that this is a purchase situation and not a abandonment unwanted animal problem. In our area the auction for horses only advertises directly to people who look up their webpage and many people in our area do not EVEN know they could go bid on a horse at that auction to save it. So they have de-graded their ads in order to save money and keep bidding low in order to perpetrate the low cost horses, so that way they haul in more horses themselves for cheap. So keep in mind that Mexican’s are just starting to reel from the exposure of this horrid process and they need the compassion and understanding of horse people to help them find their way through this process. It breaks my heart what these animals endure-but the key is-they are bought-so the notion they are abandoned and unwanted is ridiculous! Please encourage people within Mexico to speak out and expose this for what it is. If it was such a noble and helpful type of work, and was so honest and handled to well why is it they have to soft soap everyone? Also when you talk to any politicians please remind them these horses are bought into slaughter-this is NOT a bunch of abandoned horses- Please they are working in Congress and they are NOT out in public everyday to see if this is happening first hand or not-so we need to educate them on killer buyers and the tactics used to obtain the horses. On race tracks the horses are sold to slaughter the day they lose, even if healthy, so people don’t even know they can buy the horse before its dead. So we need to get this in to the people in power. Duquette and Wallis are promoting the poor sad abandoned animals, then why is it these are animals documented being bought paid for at auction? Beg them to reason out the lie to expose the truth! The truth will SET the horse’s Free. And the wind of God on their back’s will comfort them.
This article is really intense. I agree, this needs to be shown to all people! This barbaric & inhumane practice must end soon.

The article was very well written, and shows that much of the Mexican population disapproves of horse slaughter despite the racial profiling the country has received; how can any rational human being criticize another country’s cruelty to animals after seeing what Animals’ Angels, for one, has been exposing for years while our government turns a blind eye?

THIS TREATMENT OF THE HORSES SHOULD BE MADE KNOWN WORLD WIDE .IT IS A DISGRACE AND NOT ACCEPTABLE IN THE US OR ANY WHERE. ITS ABOUT TIME ALL SPECIES OF ANIMALS WERE PROTECTED BY LAWS AND WHEN ANY ANIMAL IS TAKEN TO THE HELL HOUSE TO HAVE ITS LIFE TAKEN , IT SHOULD BE DONE AS HUMANELY AND QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE. COMPASSION IS LACKING AND ITS NEEDED . ITS NEEDED AS IF IT WERE HUMANS THAT WERE GOING TO SLAUGHTER, AND THERE SHOULD BE NO DIFFERENCE. A LIFE IS A LIFE IS A LIFE !!
I just could not watch some of it had to cover my eyes this is the most horrific thing I have ever seen what I did see, I am SO GLAD it was procasted, more than what they are doing here WHY NOT HERE it needs to be on TV NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Show horses being slughtered here when it was being done they think it will be so much more humane!!!!! Laughable if it was not so sick!!!! What in Hell is the matter with people wanting this ( BROADCAST IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) Thank you for telling us about this!
Horse slaughter groups have a choke hold on government officials. If people saw this video they would wise up and end the slaughter of American horses.
At least it is now being exposed in Mexico. That country being what it is with horse tripping, starvation of street dogs and horses alike with no animal protection laws on the books and the illegal horse races that take place in California after ex-race horses are bought and pumped full of bute so they can stay on their feet long enough to win a few illegal races and then after they are so crippled up they can’t run anymore are dumped in the desert to die. Some of them have been found alive. That’s how it was found out what was going on.
