CFIA Suspends Operating Licence of KML Meat Processor Ltd.

CFIA Compliance and Enforcement Issued the following notification on December 14th:

“The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has suspended the operating licence of KML Meat Processor Ltd., a registered meat slaughter and processing facility located in Westwold, BC, effective December 13, 2016.

The operator’s licence has been suspended because of a failure to effectively maintain and implement a Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) program as required by the Meat Inspection Regulations, 1990.

There are currently no food safety issues associated with this suspension and no product being recalled at this time.

The operator will not be able to resume activities related to the processing of meat products until the CFIA determines that the required corrective measures have been taken.

Licences and registrations of federally registered establishments or companies can be suspended, cancelled or refused renewal for failure to comply with relevant CFIA Acts and Regulations. The CFIA publishes a list of suspensions and cancellations on its website.”

KML Meat Processors Ltd. is still licensed to slaughter horses.

They had their operating license suspended but can still slaughter horses — just another example of what lies within the predatory, crime-filled, greed-driven industry of slaughter!!!

Um no they cant… There operating liscence has been suspended, and not to mention, the horse slaughter is Temporarily Inactive… Please stop the aspersion on this plant. If you looked into this thing and asked people at the plant you will learn that they are no longer going to be slaughtering horses.
