On Saturday and Sunday, August 20th -21st, Dog Tales Rescue and Sanctuary held their 2nd summer festival in order that the public could be entertained and acquainted with them. Dog Tales, a not-for-profit rescue, sits on fifty acres in the rolling landscape of King City, Ontario and is the dream of owners, husband and wife Danielle Eden and Rob Scheinberg. What they’ve accomplished in two short years is truly amazing – and has to be seen to be believed. Rob illustrates their vision in this youtube video and in this second video.
Dog Tales isn’t just about dogs; they’ve also rescued roughly seventy horses from abuse situations and from the slaughter pipeline. The horses, many of which are drafts, come from high kill auctions destined for the meat trade and are not for adoption.
The Canadian Horse Defence Coalition (CHDC) was honoured to take part in the festival last weekend – it was a truly remarkable event! We’ve included pictures of the festival for those that didn’t attend. If you would like to find out more about Dog Tales, please visit their web page. You can also like them on Facebook.
Dog Tales is also open to the public each Sunday from 11am to 5pm. You needn’t call in advance – just come out and experience this wonderful rescue!
