Feral horses near Oliver rounded up for sale, slaughter

Urgent Alert!

Please phone Chief Clarence Louie, Osoyoos Indian Band, toll-free number 1-888-498-3444 or 250-498-3444 ext 112, and ask for his immediate intervention to prevent the feral horses concerned from being sold to slaughter.

Also please alert the Canadian Food Inspection Agency that any horses entering the slaughter pipeline from this direction MUST be held for a minimum of six months.  If phenylbutazone or any other prohibited drugs have been administered to the horses, then a lifetime prohibition on their slaughter for human consumption prevails.

  1. These horses are the property of the Canadian people. They are not there to be killed. Stop this.
    Our wild horses are ours and not for you to take and do as you please.
    Leave them alone. Don’t steal from the public. They belong to us.

    As requested I emailed Dr. Kochhar of the CFIA and phoned Chief Louie’s office. The Chief wasn’t in but I spoke with the lady who answered the phone.
