sign at US auctionSlaughterhouse Sue Wallis is busier than a one-armed paper hanger these days – asking for “donations” to be made to her for-profit company so that the hauling of horses can continue.  Our favourite slaughterphile hopes to build her “war chest” by attempting to “crowdsource” funding from some of the cheapest people on the planet – people who would sell their horse to a slaughterhouse rather than providing humane euthanasia.  Sue really throws her hyperbole engine into high gear when she says that “We take “bare bones” to a high art form.

  1. Let me note that I really appreciate these informative posts.
For US citizens, keeping track of anti horse slaughter efforts in Canada can be tough. US citizens have their own battles to fight re ending the longtime congressional tax scam of horse slaughter.
Dennis, Anne and Mary, your posts help inform US citizens on the truth about this situation.
Having a blog from Canadian sources helps get the truth out here in the US.
    Facts matter.
From reading, it seems that Harper has a terrible record re any animal welfare issue. That costs Canadians in business and tax income. Small business and workers care about that a great deal.
Taxpayers foot the bills for this longtime scam.

  2. For US readers, please contact Congress through http://www.USA.gov and demand passage of the Safe Act and a debate for existing bills HB2966 and S1176. Those two bills have been sitting since the Ag Committee games in 2011. According to The White House, US taxpayers lose 123 million dollars a year to the trafficking in our own equines. Congress has refused to act. It is up to voters to force Congress to pass bills and fund them. Enforcement is crucial.

Mary Croft, you could not be more right. When it comes to ethical issues not only Harper, but Ritz as well have serious deficiency.
