Help protest against rodeo cruelty in Calgary

People who care about animals will be holding demonstrations against rodeo cruelty at the Calgary Stampede (July 5-14).  They need your help.

chuckwagonsEvery year, VHS makes headlines with its campaign against rodeo cruelty at the Calgary Stampede.  We do what we can to draw attention to the issue through the news media, advertising, our website and social media.  But there is a group of people in Calgary who are on the front-lines of the struggle to stop the suffering of rodeo animals and they are the unsung heroes of that struggle.

What a shame a bunch of urbanites who have no clue how to care for livestock, have never had anything to do with livestock or the ranching way of life, feel that they need to give anyone their two cents. If you don’t like it, stay home. Or better yet, go back into the barns, and see how the animals are cared for. PS, I’m not a rancher either, but I know when to mind my own business, maybe VHS should too.

Bravo to the Vancouver Humane! It has worked so hard to highlight the extreme downside for animals at the Calgary Stampede. I wish I could say the same for the Calgary Humane Society but I can’t. They just aren’t there. Kudos though to the brave Calgarians that are speaking out!
