Perhaps all this attention to equine suffering for purposes of titillating the human palate will bring awareness of the unconscionable cruelty towards all animals headed for the abattoir.

We need to send a petition to the World Organisation for Animal Health, conference that is being held in May to make sure that all of Europe stops buying horse meat.

Swiss Vets, should instead work to bring a ban on ALL Horse meat. Unlike the Swiss Vets it is evident that a MAJORITY of people in the U.S. and Canada want this DISRGACEFUL industry BANNED.
What part of this do the Swiss Vets not understand.

There is nothing right about this industry! The entire process is extremely cruel. These animals are flight animals, they are not raised for food and the meat is often tainted with toxic substances. One good thing coming out of the scandal is that it raises awareness of this dark secret!

THANK GOD THERES A COUNTRY WITH MORALS ! THIS UNBELIEVABLE CRUEL BUISNESS IS A DISGRACE TO HUMANITY AND IT HAS TO END NOW. ANIMALS SHOULD BE TREATED HUMANELY WORLD-WIDE. THERE HAS TO BE LAWS TO PROTECT THEM.!

The emaciated bay horse in the photo is so poor that he would die of starvation if left alive much longer. Their is no meat on an emaciated horse so why butcher them. Beats dying from starvation but someone along the line from the owner down should have been held responsible for the horse’s condition.
