  1. SHE WON THAT FOAL BACK BECAUSE SHE HAD HOPE IN HER HEART AND WAS NOT DISCOURAGED.THIS STORY IS TELLING CANADIANS THAT WE SLAUGHTER BABY HORSES . LETS STOP THIS NOW. AND FOREVER.

The foal was able to be rescued because he was young and scrawny and most likely in a feedlot. If he had been over 600 pounds and fat he would have been slaughtered. Have read that Bouvry doesn’t slaughter heavily pregnant mares but foals them out and grows the foals out to a profitable size. Allowing the foal to be rescued would give him some good press for a change.

The real ahole in the business is the owner that bred the mare when he could have raised a calf instead and sold it for at least $500 compared to the $50.00 or less that the foal brought him..

  3. Absolutely priceless. Tracy you are an angel. The question that still bugs me is how many of the other horses at that Calgary Plant had Strangles and were slaughtered and shipped as food to the EU?

  4. Bouvry desperately needs some good press. No-one seems to care that the colt was GOING to be slaughtered, of course. Or that foals and pregnant mares are routinely slaughtered. That doesn’t make a feel good story:(
Or how about how much money Bouvry lost? Not that much, of course, scrawny little colt wouldn’t have been worth much more than a few thousand, dead and cut up.
Dead horses make Bouvry a load of money…

Perhaps the Premier of Alberta, Allison Redford might find this story interesting, after all this BARBARIC MONSTER C.Bouvry could not conduct his BLOODY, and INHUMANE slaughter business without her support.
Allison Redford was on 22 minutes New Years, where she was featured saying she was going to celebrate New Years with the Gas and Oil Industry, however she failed to include the HORSE SLAUGHTER INDUSTRY. Too bad, as i am sure there were millions of Canadians viewing the program.

  6. A beautiful story indeed!!! However I would have liked to have heard more on the plight of the horses taken to auction & that had she (Tracey not have bidded on the mare it most likely would have went to! one or two horse slaughter plants. etc. etc. I do hope the foal continues to thrive & join the herd!
