We wouldn’t have to slaughter any horses if people would just STOP BREEDING. It’s sad that all types of pets including cats, dogs and horses are now seen as disposable pets. It wasn’t always this way and it shouldn’t be!!

Unless we search for a better procedure to kill horses when it is time, then things will remain the same. For example, perhaps partial sedation before the procedure would reduce the stress that the horse is going through. Also if they can build robots to make cars, then they could make a robot to humanely put down a horse, instead of the hit & miss methods that are employed now which end up abusing the animal!

Perhaps we should start helping horses by making sure that only humane methods are used in handling & killing them. Once the horse is dead it is too late to ring our hands in pain!
