Animal advocates attacked by rodeo fanatics
Montreal Animal Advocacy Examiner
On Saturday March 31, 2012, there was peaceful protest calling out Evenko
and the Centre Bell
for presenting the Professional Bull Riders Canada
(PBR Canada). More than a dozen animal activists gathered front of the Bell Centre to exert their right to publicly protest the shameful practices that take place in a rodeo. According to PBR Canada the bulls used in rodeos today are not totally feral. They are tame and gentle enough so that they can be handled and transported easily. It is the abuse they receive, and the pain they are in, which makes them buck. Irritants such as burrs are placed under the flank strap to make them buck and kick. Electric prods and shocking devices may also be used on the bulls.
