agree – however they can pass anything they want. Obama has no money to give them for Federal Inspectors. No Inspectors = no opening. Also with the current scandal in europe the restrictions and conditions and regs are going to get tougher than even those they want to impose July 2013. So hopefully no North American horses will qualify.
On another note – I have been reading the Canadian Inspectors ACT…..they are in violation of their own ACT. It is a big job reading this and making notes. When done I intend to send it to the Min of Agriculture and the Opposition Parties Federally and provincially. Anyone want to read also . Remember Al Capone was not put in jail for his criminal activities. It was because some could read and they caught him on tax evasion. So lets get READING folks. There are other ways to skin a cat (pardon the pun). Maybe Boudry can be caught in tax issues also.
I am also not buying mince beef in any Stores in Canada. Local butcher only who does his own meat. No risk of contamination that way. And the only restaurant – big chain -who only uses beef from beef only slaughter houses so far is MCDONALDS. The others – burger King and Wendys wont reply. Metro stores refuse to answer, same for Loblaws.Zehrs…time to put the power of the consumer to work……I dont want to eat meat that can be traced back to plants that also slaughter horses. Too much risk of BS going on and contamination (deliberate of otherwise).

Sick in the head people. Somebody should put them in a kill pen and slaughter them.
due to the recent scandal in the UK in which horsemeat is being mixed with beef…I would like to know who the meat suppliers are for Zehrs, Metro, Loblaw stores, etc…..? What is being done for example, to make sure that meat from Viande Richelieu in Quebec, which slaughters horses and cows (pigs?) , is not being mixed , combined, and contaminated?
If it can happen in a horse friendly country like the UK, it can certainly happen in this care less society here. I wont buy mince beef anymore from stores…I will grind my own if I want it.
If more people contact these major chain stores here, with these questions, maybe this will help stop the slaughter of horses at these same facilities that provide them with BEEF.????
Major chain stores in the UK are no longer dealing with these slaughter houses and law suits are happening. They wont want it to happen here. Think about it…. If you want to strike a blow for horses, send emails to the major chain stores…..ask questions…..put the pressure on.

….But then again , all politicians in this country have extensive knowledge that Tanax T61 (a brutal corrosive euthanasia drug ) and gas chambers are being routinely used by animal shelters across this country because that is all the government will allow them to use when a vet is not available..not like other countries that humanely euthanize their animals with the same humane drug veteranarians use…Sodium Pentobarbital…a simple solution solved by allowing the licensing of Sodium Pentobarbital trained technicians in all animal shelters. I couldnt agree more …POLITICIANS DONT SEEM TO GIVE A RATS ASS ABOUT THE TREATMENT OF ANIMALS IN THIS COUNTRY…IT SEEMS TO BE REFLECTIVE OF HOW IT TREATS ITS CITIZENS….Certainly explains the apathy at election time now doesnt it….
We have animal welfare legislation specifically outlining what constitutes cruelty and what constitutes willfully causing pain and suffering to an animal…this legislation I believe is section #445 and #446 of the Criminal Code and was drafted again I believe by the SPCA and enacted into law by the Federal Government. Sooooooo why then isnt the Government and the SPCA laying charges against these slaughter facilities …why are animals being knowingly and willfully being made to suffer …It is not simply enough to just send this outragious practice south of the border again…cause that is what politicians do…ping pong the slaughter rights back and forth over the border…It needs to ends North America wide …PERIOD.

Words of disgust, barbaric inhumane are not enough. I hope that CHDF will have the resources to document this horrors as they did on the CBC’s “Passionate Eye” approx 2007. Needs to be in the media. Period. TELEVISION. All the responses will be fine, but tv MEDIA is essential. God Bless all.

So sad I couln’t help but cry for these poor helpless horses.What kind of owner would allow their beloved pet to be killed in this God-awful place.This is wrong we just do not kill our pets!Horses are not in the food chain,they were put here by God for pets and sports for our enjoyment.How can the people that do the slaughter sleep at nights?You have to be pretty cold hearted to this why the horse are fighting for their LIFES.They have feeling also they bleed and cry and feel pain like us.May their souls find peace and rest up in Heaven,judgement day will come for those that did this to all the beautiful horses.The slaughter plants need to all be closed down, and no more transport to other countries either.It is wrong!Can’t you see the Looks on the horses face pure fear,nobody would want that.

I have to agree with every single comment: it’s sickening, it’s cruel beyond words. The sellers ARE heartless, as well as the people killing them. It really does look like they enjoy it. He even said to one horse who vocalized after being shot, “I love you, too.” I would like to take that same bolt gun, shoot him in the forehead with it, step back and say “I love you, too.”
How do we get our local MPs to view these videos so they can see what is really happening…..I posted on his face-book page….Bruce Stanton…..it is gone. His emails to me are full of lies! Those in power will wait to do something when it is too late & the whole system gets shut down when bad drug infested meat hits someones plate in Europe. Remember BSE…all farmers suffered for just a few! We need more humane treatment of All meat animals!
I put a copy of the video and the report on a CD and hand delivered it to my MP. He was having an open house so I went told him about the issue and gave him the material. He has asked me to meet with him to discuss more fully.
So, maybe, if you can actually give it to them in person, it’ll have more impact.

After watching the video on your website, I found it very disturbing that the person doing the killing looks like he really enjoys his job. How sad.
THIS is what the pro slaughter crowd want to keep hidden! THIS is what the pro slaughter crowd says is acceptable. THIS is what the pro slaughter crowd says is humane. When Temple Grandin herself, is outraged at this…the rest of the pro slaughter crowd are promoting it, just so they can avoid having to be made personally responsible for the deaths/disposal of their own animals, and can be PAID for it, rather than have to pay for it.
Who knows how many other horses were tramatized and tortured before their hearts stopped beating, BEFORE and AFTER this video was taken???
Please don’t be mad at this question. What are horses selling for to go for meat? I have a horse for sale and someone enquired with a really low offer. They said my horse wouldn’t go for meat but will be trained and resold. I refuse to go below a $1 a pound as I do not want her going to the packers. This is a young horse not done growing and can’t be fully trained for another year.
In my opinion, if all horse people kept their prices high there would be less chances for the horses to be sold for meat! I’m also going to be looking at the future home for this horse.
So, you REFUSE to go below $1.00 PER POUND??? Sounds to me like you’re more than ready to sell her to meat.
Yes, refuse this offer! This person is almost certainly a killer buyer. It’s common practice for these guys to misrepresent themselves in order to get horses from owners who would NEVER sell their horses to slaughter themselves.
We had this so bad in Texas when the two plants there were open that people almost stopped selling horses at all. Then of course, there were all the stolen ones. These people are utterly heartless and there is nothing so low that they will not stoop to do it.
I was glad to see this information aired on CTV last week. The average person does not know that this goes on. You need to get more of these videos out for the public to see.
I don’t know how someone can go to work each day and KILL horses like this then go home and carry on with their lives. It saddens me.

How do they allow it to get this far? I am striving to save horses and this video reminds me that i am NEVER doing enough. Those men deserve the EXACT same treatment they showed the horses they murdered. I’d even do it myself.
