For all who are so against horse slaughter, I hope none of you ever hit one one the highway that’s been turned loose to fend for itself in desperate times. We will be seeing more and more of this. When you hit a horse it’s body comes thro the windshield because of their long legs. We’ve seen many vehicles that have hit moose so we know what happens.
Lets get those damn rendering and kill buyers out of business like yesterday already. This is so not a good thing. I saw a u tube video last night, overseas meat plants are doing fine on their own. They don’t need horses. They have a range of other animals to choose from that are not horses, I don’t agree with how the process is for other animals. But horse meat is not needed. Yes, get those ugly places closed for good. TODAY, FOREVER.
Hopefully this good news can be confirmed, and if it is true there is still one thing to put straight for the many thousands of HORSES who endured horrible transport conditions, cruel and inhumane slaughter. That is toss the person from office who is DIRECTLY responsible for bringing this shameful industry to Canada, S.HARPER and the incompitent go boy who did all the lying G.RITZ.

This is the greatest reason to ban horse slaughter inspectors in Ag bill (Moran Amendment) because no one is importing meat or horses…time is now… So we have to remember that the pro slaughter will say Ok we kill them here and then ship them there to china etc….we have to cut the head off the serpent now ..not just the tail…
I am a little skeptical.
Slaughter corps and the entire slaughter industry lie and any horsemeat will be coming from anyplace (label can state anywhere except the US)and be sold anywhere unless we have law and US enforcement on a federal level. In addition, this is international business and we have heard nothing from any federal agency. That is odd.
Any promises made by any entity can be untrue or change in a heartbeat, as we saw with our own Congressional Ag Committee. Congress sold us out in the first place.
Canada has announced nothing so far as I know and Mexico will supposedly cut down on buying horses we sell to slaughter for fast cash for our own petty criminals? Has Mexico made any announcement? I have not heard about that yet. BTW, no slaughter is the only way for the US to proceed. There is no reason for it. There is no acceptable number of US horses to obtain and torture and then kill. We would accept this? I don’t think so.
When I hear rumors, I wait. What I do know is that slaughter operators will go to great lengths to play games. What this would do is calm the waters of anti-slaughter activists before the re-election in November of an anti-slaughter President. The timing seems odd.
It is good that this entire story is labeled as a rumor. While I hope horse slaughter is eliminated asap, I also am aware that there is substantial income involved and that we should likely wait to hear more from governmental sources from these countries for confirmation before we start to celebrate the end of this domestic and foreign tax and cash scam which pays foreign interests to operate with our own horses.
Let’s keep our fingers crossed that we can pass law in Congress before any more of our friends die for no reason except fast cash for corrupt interests, foreign and domestic.
BTW, no equines ever need or needed to die for foreign owned-slaughter businesses. The entire thing is a scam and has nothing to do with horses but is about cash and greed.
Live horses generate income. That is the only truth in all of this slaughter scam. In the meantime, while we all hope this is true, pls make sure to contact Congress thru http://www.Congress.org and demand passage of HB2966 and S1176 asap.
I don’t know if the bought off Senate will pass the S1176 there has been so much money donated to these crooks by lobbyists for their reelection campaigns. There are only 25 Senators that signed on to cosponsor the bill that was the same number that cosponsored the last failed bill. If we only needed the House to pass it it would have been law years ago.
Too bad the rescues were already full, now even more will be turned a loose in the wild and starve. It’s a problem a long time in the making and really reputable responsible breeders have slowed way down, this won’t be an instant fix either. Somebody better come up with something quick or this will get very bad extremely quick.
Get very bad? It’s already been very bad for thousands of horses that are tortured and slaughtered every year.

Maybe this should,ve been done like this decades ago. (Proper blood-tests!) “They” all kept the dirty sour secrets under the carpet for so long, too long and found ways to mix up people,s minds with weak (EIDs) ect, only to be properly supervised by whom-ever, maybe with all the horse advocates, groups, associations as CHDC, ect, ect.
God, will there ever be peace for our dear Horses..
Right now, the gouverments who supported Horse-Slaughter all this time, better wake-up and smell the coffee! Those horses are all stuck, probably without food, water, rest, shelter & simple care!?
Breeders, Pros, Gouverments, X-owners, CFIA, better move their behides and come up with an instant solution!

What’s happened is that the EU labs have come up with a way to take a simple blood test of the horses that shows what they are contaminated with. They don’t have to be killed first. I hope this is true because if the over breeders have no way to dispose of their culls this will get rid of those people and force them to be prudent as far as their breeding is concerned. If this is true happy days are here again.

This will wake everyone up. For years and years I have seen people get very sick from eating horse meat. This meat was never for humans to eat. Alpo closed there doors to horse meat years ago because dogs were getting sick. The wild horses are not drug free after being in holding pens some for two years. If you don’t worm a horse in 2 years you’ll have a pretty sick horse. This is why Wild Horses are not over populated nature takes care of them they don’t live long in the wild. Worms, injuries, colic other things kill them Nature takes care of them does not need us. Now BLM have thousands of wild horses in holding pens they should all be left free. NOW. This was a business that was under the table and now exposed. A danger to humans health.
