CFIA in the hotseat again

The CHDC has long red-flagged the CFIA for lack of transparency and food safety related to horsemeat.  Now consumers North America wide, who consume Canadian beef, get a similar wake up call with the news this week of a massive ground beef and steaks recall for e-coli tainted meat from Alberta.

CFIA, contaminated meat, e-coliThis was discovered by American food inspectors on September 3rd but it took until September 16th before the CFIA alerted the Canadian public.

I still think that anyone who sends their horse to slaughter should be made to watch it. Then take
their packaged meat home for a barbeque picnic or maybe a Christmas get together. Perhaps look at a couple pictures of their horse and tell a story, remember when …….. Hopefully, the next day they will feel sick. CFIA doesn’t care because most of them are vegetarians now, but rich ones.

  2. Dennis Davey says:

This is an INCOMPITENT agency, led by an INCOMPITENT G.Ritz, who claims HORSE meat is safe for human consumption when the Veterinary Community and Scientific Community say otherwise. Also, it is only a matter of time before the Maple Leaf DISASTER and recent XL DISASTER is revisited on the Canadian PUBLIC, with Ritz heading the CFIA. As important, why has the media, PRINT and Telivision not notified the Canadian PUBLIC that HARPER is intentionally moving in the direction of permitting the CORPORATE FOOD INDUSTRY TO REGULATE ITSELF?
I would ENCOURAGE ALL CANADIANS to take the time to view the DOCUMENTARY”,FOOD INC.”, THEN DECIDE IF YOU BELIEVE THE CORPORATE FOOD INDUSTRY HAS THE BEST INTERESTS OF CANADIANS AND THEIR FAMILY’S.
